Your next message, already drafted

When a reply finishes and the composer is still empty, Klaus predicts the message you are likely to send next and shows it in light grey. Press Tab and it becomes your draft: tweak a word or send it as is.

Shows up

  • The reply has finished
  • The composer is empty
  • This chat has a model selected

Steps aside

  • You start typing or composing with an input method
  • You add an attachment, an @ reference or a slash command
  • Voice input is on
  • A turn is still running, or plan mode is on

One switch

Settings → Preferences → Editor → Show predictions, on by default; turn it off and the composer stops predicting. When the running app cannot predict, Settings says why.

Recorded in the real client: a prediction appears after the reply, Tab makes it a draft, a quick edit and send; then the switch in Settings.

Questions

Will a prediction ever be sent for me?

No. A prediction is grey text in the composer, and accepting it only fills in a draft; whether to send it, and what to change first, is up to you. Start typing and the grey text disappears.

Which models support it?

Any model source works: a prediction is generated by the model this chat already uses, with no extra subscription or sign-in. None appear while a turn is still running or plan mode is on; when the running app cannot predict, Settings says why.

Does it use more of my quota?

Each prediction is one extra model call over the current chat, made by that chat's model service and counted against its usage. If you don't want it, turn off Show predictions in Settings.

Besides Tab, how else can I accept?

While the grey text is showing, Tab, the right arrow or Enter all accept it as a draft; Enter after that sends. Once you have accepted one, the “Press Tab to accept” hint no longer appears.
