FAQ

command not found, unsupported platforms, checksum mismatches, and how to upgrade.

  • command not found: klaus after installation: the installer already wrote the installation directory into your shell configuration, but a terminal window that is already open will not reload it on its own. Opening a new terminal usually fixes it. The same applies on Windows: the PATH written by setx does not take effect in windows that are already open. If you installed with KLAUS_NO_MODIFY_PATH=1, or the script could not write to your configuration, add the directory to your shell configuration yourself using the line it printed at the end. If you are in a hurry, you can run the full path ~/.klaus/bin/klaus directly.
  • Unsupported platform: only macOS Apple Silicon and Windows x64 are supported right now. On any other platform the installer stops before downloading, so it never installs an artifact that could not run.
  • Checksum mismatch: the download was corrupted or tampered with, and in that case the script does not install any file. Try once more; if it still mismatches, do not work around it.
  • Upgrading: run the installation command again.
