Klaus iOS Overview
What Klaus iOS is for, how it works, what it can do, and where its boundary with the desktop client lies.
Klaus iOS is the iPhone remote client for Klaus. It lets you keep viewing and controlling your desktop sessions after you step away from the computer: switch between devices and projects, open a session, send messages and attachments, read replies and execution status, and handle confirmations raised during a task.
The phone does not start the Klaus engine on the iPhone, and it does not read your computer's files directly. Files, commands, model calls, and tool execution always happen on the desktop client you selected; the iOS side sends your actions over and syncs session state and results back.
How it connects
Once your phone and your computer are signed in to the same Klaus account, iOS automatically discovers the desktop clients that have allowed remote control. There is no QR code to scan, no LAN pairing, no token to type in by hand, and the two devices do not need to be on the same network.
Whether a desktop client is visible is decided by a switch on that computer, "Settings → Remote Control → Allow remote control of this device":
- On: the computer joins your account's device list and can be controlled remotely from Klaus iOS.
- Off: the computer is removed from the device list and stops accepting connections from mobile.
What you can do today
- See the desktop devices on your account that allow remote control, along with their online status.
- Browse projects and sessions by device, and start or continue a desktop session.
- Send text, images, and files, and read replies, tool progress, and task status.
- Stop a running task, and handle permission confirmations sent from the desktop client.
- Manage the device list. When you remove a device, that desktop client signs out of the Klaus account.
- Switch language and theme on the phone, along with the model and runtime settings the desktop client has exposed.
Prerequisites
- Klaus iOS is installed on the iPhone through TestFlight. Public App Store download is not available yet.
- The Klaus desktop client is installed and running on the computer.
- The phone and the computer are signed in to the same Klaus account.
- "Allow remote control of this device" is on in the desktop client, and the computer stays online.
